A company rooting for a sustainable Africa

To commemorate Earth Day 2015 (22 April), Tsebo FS CEO, Dr. John Wentzel, dug in and planted an olive tree outside our Sandton HQ with the help of staff. The Wild Olive (Olea africana) is a protected tree in South Africa and a precious part of our local natural heritage – but there’s a wider meaning for Tsebo FS.

Health and safety is top priority

Tsebo Solutions Group FM, a division of Tsebo FS, has extensive experience in managing our clients’ compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act. Since 1 January, we had a team in place, mandated to maintain world-class health and safety standards, for Redefine, a national property group, on their inland portfolio. This means keeping 253 buildings safe for all who enter them.

How should we remember Madiba?

It is hard to believe that South Africa, and the world, have had to go forward without the reassuring presence of Nelson Mandela for a whole year now. In remembering his life, his 27 years of sacrifice, his triumph of a free South Africa, it is also surely important to acknowledge, and live, by perhaps the greatest gift he gave humanity: his example. No one else can ever be Mandela, but we can each try to be like Mandela by simply biting back the next angry word; being patient when someone elderly and slow is in our path; giving up a bus seat; smiling at a passer-by instead of looking away; looking out for stray animals and taking them to the vet; not yelling at the next cold caller, who also needs to feed their family… or even just being a little kinder to the loved ones in our own lives. If we simply try to practice small acts of kindness, every day – maybe that is the best way to remember Madiba.

Ensuring our lead in Management

Ensuring our lead in Management

Congratulations to Tsebo Solutions Group FM managers Ben Chauke, Basetsana Leeu, Jiten Ramprasad, Wayne Milan, Stephina Thobela and Theo Mhlongo, who were part of a group of 28 managers from Tsebo who successfully graduated the Gordon Institute of Business Science Leadership Development Programme this month.
Skills development is a priority at Tsebo, which is why we annually send managers on the GIBS programme. The latest group graduated on 18 November 2014. Dr. John Wentzel, Tsebo Solutions Group CEO, believes this kind of investment in applied managerial skills, is imperative for companies seeking to stay at the forefront.

All T-Systems go

Luset Brink and team keep things humming at T-Systems South Africa!

Since 2009, we’ve been dependably delivering FM services for T-Systems, a leading ICT services multinational, at Avanti Towers in Cape Town. ‘Avanti’ – Italian for ‘move forward’ is a perfectly-named setting for the determined Luset and her team, who’ve often gone beyond the call of duty.
